Hi! I’m Joel, a queer Philadelphia-based illustrator, artist, and (sometimes) designer. As a
storyteller at heart, I create work centered on sequential narrative, fueled by my love of video games, film, literature, theatre, and music—anything that explores the human experience.
Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, I developed an appreciation for nature, a love for animals, and a fascination with the sciences. If I weren’t an artist, I'd most likely be a biologist. I studied at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, earning my degree in Illustration and Emerging Media. My background includes training in design, illustration, and a bit of printmaking, which has given me a strong foundation across traditional and digital media.
My creative approach is rooted in blending tactile, traditional textures with the flexibility of digital tools. I’m passionate about crafting engaging visuals that bring stories to life, always striving for work that feels both authentic and dynamic. I thrive on curiosity and love sharing fun facts. If I weren’t an artist, I’d probably be a biologist.
Ultimately, my goal is to invite others into the worlds I create, sparking connection and wonder through every piece. I’m always excited to collaborate and explore new narratives together.
